New Generation Volkswagen Vento Official Sketches Revealed.

Volkswagen is going to commence its second inning in India christened as India 2.0 project and under this strategy, the German car manufacturer will be launching multiple India-specific cars at competitive prices to attract the Indian Car Buyers. The first car under this project is the Upcoming Skoda Vision IN mid-size SUV (belongs to VW group), which will be followed by the Volkswagen Taigun Concept SUV. The car manufacturer will be bringing a range of new products for India which will be highly localized, but before that, the company has revealed the official exterior and interior sketches of the upcoming New Generation Volkswagen Vento.

This is the New Generation Volkswagen Vento which will be soon introduced in the Russian and CIS markets. This isn't the model which will make its way to India but the new-gen Vento which will debut in India around 2022 will borrow its design language from it. The Vento for the Indian market will be based on Volkswagen Group's MQB A0 IN platform which will make its market debut with Skoda Vision IN and Volkswagen Taigun SUV. The new VWs car for India will have up to 95% localization to offer products at an attractive price.

Coming back to the Russia-spec new-gen Vento, it will share its underpinnings with the new-gen Polo that made its global market debut last year. The car borrows its design cues from Volkswagen Jetta and looks really nice. The sketches reveal that the next-gen VW Vento gets a hexagonal grille, flat LED headlamps, X-shaped bumper, and a wide lower grille. It measures 4483 mm in length, 1706 mm in width, 1484 mm in height, and offers a boot space of 550 litres. It will also get up-market interior with a fully digital instrument cluster, an 8.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, etc.

Coming to the powertrain options, the sedan will be powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission producing 90 PS of power. There will be another 1.6-litre petrol engine mated to 5-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed manual transmission churning out 110 PS, and a 1.4-litre petrol engine combined with a 7-speed DSG cranking out 125 PS might be on offer as well.

The New Generation Volkswagen Vento will be introduced in Inda around 2022 after the new-gen Skoda Rapid goes on sale here by 2021. The Executive Sedan in India will rival the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, Toyota Yaris, Honda City, etc.
