2019 Maruti Suzuki Swift launched with BS VI compliant petrol engine & modern safety features as standard. Price starts at RS 5.14 lakhs.

Maruti Suzuki : The Largest four-wheeler Automobile Manufacturer of India has started to upgrade its existing models to meet the new upcoming BS VI emission norms in India and this week they have launched the BS VI models of two of their most popular hatchbacks the WagonR & the Swift. Talking about Maruti's Sporty Hatchback Swift, It is a very good looking & well balanced car and it has always managed to attract buyers of all age groups towards itself. Infact all the generations of the Swift had won the Indian Car of the Year Awards which tells us how popular it is in the Indian Market.
Maruti Suzuki Swift comes with two engine options : a diesel & a petrol engine. While Maruti has already announced that they will be discontinuing all its diesel engines in India from April, 2020 & so it is not made compliant with BS VI norms. The other, which is a 1.2L, four cylinder, K12B petrol engine producing 83bhp & 113 Nm mated to a 5-speed Manual or AMT gearbox is now BS VI compliant and more eco-friendly than before.
Apart from changes in engine, Maruti has now also offered many safety features as standard from the base variant itself which includes dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, seat belts reminder, speed warning alert & reverse parking sensors.
Due to addition of new features and a new BS VI engine, it has lead to a surge in its pricing and the price of Swift now starts at RS 5.14 lakhs which goes upto RS 7.97 lakhs for top of the line petrol model. The pricing of diesel variants have also been increased by 4000 rupees on each variant.
