2019 Maruti Suzuki WagonR launched with BS VI compliant petrol engine. Priced from RS 4.10 lakhs.

Maruti Suzuki has updated its recently launched WagonR 2019 with BS VI compliant petrol engine to meet the upcoming emission norms coming into effect from April,2020. The Indo-Japanese manufacturer has launched the third generation model of WagonR in the beginning of this year with two petrol engines and with the inclusion of host of features & changes in cosmetic bits.

Talking about the engine, the new generation WagonR gets a 1.0L petrol engine along with a more powerful 1.2L petrol engine which produces 83bhp & 113Nm, both mated to a 5-speed MT or an AMT gearbox. However, the company has made only the 1.2L petrol engine to be BS VI compliant while no changes have been made to the other.

The 1.2L petrol engine is offered in VXI & ZXI trims and with the inclusion of new BS VI engine, the prices have slightly bumped up and now it starts at RS 5.10 lakhs & goes upto 5.91 lakhs.
The 1L petrol, on the other hand, is offered in LXI & VXI trims and although it has not been updated with BS VI engine, but the company has revised its pricing too and now it starts at RS 4.34 lakhs & goes upto 5.33 lakhs, which is around 15,000 more expensive than its previous price.
As per features & looks are concerned, no other changes have been made to the car except inclusion of a much less pollutant BS VI engine.
