India-Spec Tata Altroz Revealed | Tata's First Premium Hatchback!
Tata Motors has finally unveiled the India Spec model of its highly anticipated Premium Hatchback, the Tata Altroz. The Altroz is the company's first offering in the premium hatch segment of the country and it aims to set gold standard benchmarks in its category. The Altroz is based on Tata's New ALFA architecture platform and Impact 2.0 design theme philosophy, which makes the car at par with Global standards of safety as well as design.
Tata Altroz wants to set Gold Standard of Design with its laser-cut sharpness, athletic stance, sleek profile, energetic presence and refined appearance. The car gets a sleek looking front profile with dual chamber projector headlamps and LED DRL's and there is a contrasting roof too. The side profile has a very neat design with rear door handles mounted on the C-pillar and it gets dual-tone alloys too which adds to its sportiness, while at the rear it gets signature split tail lamps and an integrated spoiler which overall adds to its sportiness. Tata has also offered a variety of colour options to choose the best colour which suits one's personality. There are five different shades on offer - High Street Gold, Downtown Red, Skyline Silver, Midtown Grey and Avenue White.
Talking about the powertrain options, the Altroz gets BS6 compliant petrol as well as a diesel engine, and it is Tata's first car to comply with stringent BS6 emission norms. It gets a 1.2L Revotron, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces class-leading 86bhp & 113Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Altroz will offer the customers to switch between multiple driving modes like Eco and City, and it also gets a unique feature called the Idle Stop-Start system. This ISS system automatically turns off the engine when idle at the signal, traffic, etc., thereby saving fuel consumption, and the engine starts simply by pressing the clutch (only in petrol model).
The Cabin of this premium hatch sports a floating island dashboard layout with a free-standing 7.0inch touchscreen infotainment system which comes loaded with Android Auto, Apple Car Play, Navigation, along with voice command recognition, radio and many more features. It gets a 17.78cms TFT digital instrument cluster which shows various vital driving-related information and supports turn-by-turn navigation too.
The Steering wheel is new too and it gets flat-bottom leather-wrapped steering with cruise control and other controls placed on it. On the inside, it offers a lot of space with plenty of storage options and a flat rear floor with rear AC vents to accommodate three passengers with ease. What does stand apart in the Altroz is its blue coloured ambient lighting which surrounds the dashboard, front footwell and console to set the mood for a long and peaceful drive.
Safety is now a primary concern for New Car buyers and Tata has set a benchmark in terms of safety as its Compact SUV Tata Nexon has become the First Indian Car to score 5-Star safety ratings in Global NCAP Crash Test. The Altroz is based on New ALFA architecture platform and this body structure accounts for absolute safety of the passengers. It also gets ABS with EBD, Dual front airbags, isofix child seat mounts, rear parking sensors & camera, corner stability control, voice alerts, height adjustable seat belts with seat belts reminder and more.
