Tata Motors is gearing up to launch the mid-life facelift of it's most successful SUV, the Tata Nexon. Tata Nexon was first launched in India in 2016 and it is due for an update since a long time, especially when new rivals like Venue and XUV 300 takes an edge in the segment.

Tata Motors has recently unveiled its first Electric SUV for the mass market called the Nexon EV, and aesthetically the Nexon Facelift will resemble the looks of its eco-friendly sibling. The Facelifted Nexon gets redesigned hood and bumper, keeping in mind the upcoming pedestrian safety norms, the grille is now bigger and finished in black with an underneath silver-running chrome line, the headlamps are all new with new LED DRLs and the fog lamp housing is also redesigned and gets silver accents around. The lower bumper of the front profile also carries over the triangular pattern design from its EV counterpart.

There aren't much changes in the side profile except for the fact that it gets redesigned 16-inch dual tone alloy wheels, and the silver ivory line still runs below the windows. The rear profile still houses the X-cross patern on the boot, the bumper is redesigned a bit and the tail lights sport some minor changes. The Nexon will be still offered in dual-tone colour variants and this time it will get a sunroof too.

Talking about the powertrain options, the facelifted Tata Nexon will continue to get 1.2L turbo-petrol as well as 1.5L turbo diesel engine producing 108bhp/170Nm and 110bhp/26oNm respectively, both mated to a 6-speed manual and an automatic gearbox. However, both the engines will now comply with stringent BS6 emission norms.

The Interior of the car will give it a fresh appeal and it will get features like a 7.0inch touchscreen infotainment system with both Android Auto as well as Apple Car Play, a part analogue part digital instrument cluster, new flat-bottom steering wheel with cruise control, new upholstery, some connected car tech features and more. The Tata Nexon has always been a well equipped car and the additions in the facelift will even make it better.

Well, the addition of new features with the revision of looks and the inclusion of BS6 compliant engines will make it pricier than before. So will you pick the Facelifted Nexon against its rivals like the Upcoming Vitara Brezza Facelift, Ford Ecosport, Mahindra XUV 500 and Hyundai Venue?
