Audi Q8 India Launch on 15th January, 2020 | Audi's Flagship SUV!

Audi is going to join the bandwagon of Coupe~ish-SUVs with the launch of its New Flagship SUV, Audi Q8 in India on January 15, 2020. The Audi Q8 is placed at the Top Spot in Audi's Global Portfolio and it is going to be a premium and more appealing version of it's most successful SUV, Audi Q7.

The Audi Q8 is massive in terms of proportions and it features Audi's new-age massive hexagonal grille, new distinctive matrix LED headlamps with LED DRL's, flared wheel arches with 21inch alloys as standard (22inch optional), a coupe-like roofline with sexy-looking frameless doors and full-width tail lights with glossy black embossment at the rear that sports Audi's quad-rings logo.

Powering this mammoth will be a 3.0L turbocharged V6 petrol engine churning out 340bhp and 500Nm, mated to an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission and coupled with a 48V mild-hybrid technology under the sobriquet 55 TFSI, that propels the car from naught to a hundred in just 5.9 seconds. Power is channeled to all the four wheels via Audi's Quattro drive system. There will be no oil-burner on offer, at least for the time being, as Audi has already announced to axe diesel engines from its entire portfolio once BS6 emission norms kick-in.

The Audi Q8 is based on Volkswagen Group's MLB Evo platform and it shares its underpinnings with Audi Q7 and some supercars like Lamborghini Urus, Porsche Cayenne and Bentley Bentayga. The Audi Q8 sports a flashy exterior and a minimalistic yet sophisticated interior. The dashboard houses dual touchscreen units, the upper one being the 10.1inch screen that controls infotainment and navigation, while the lower one is an 8.1inch screen that controls air-con functionalities. It also gets Audi's Virtual Cockpit, which we have seen on many other Audi's in India as well.

The Audi Q8 will not be an affordable car by any means as it will be brought to India as a CBU (completely built unit) import. Audi also mentions that No Two Q8's Will Look The Same as there will be plenty of customization options on offer. The Audi Q8 is expected to sport a price tag of around Rs 1.50 Crores Ex-showroom and will rival the likes of BMW X6, Mercedes GLE Coupe and Land Rover Range Rover Sport.
