The Electric Mobility space of our country is now gradually picking up its pace and every OEM wants to have at least one electric vehicle in its portfolio. Although the infrastructure of the country is not so well developed to provide a hassle-free electric vehicle ownership experience, the companies are coming up with their own charging facilities, at least for the time being, to outset the electric revolution. So, here is our list of the Top 4 Upcoming EVs in India in January 2020.
1. Bajaj Chetak
The Iconic Nameplate 'Chetak' is making a comeback in the Indian market after 15 years, but this time in its electric avatar. Bajaj will launch its first all-electric scooter 'Bajaj Chetak' in India on January 15, 2020. The e-scooter will be powered by a 4kW motor with two different riding modes Eco and Sport that can give a claimed range of 85kms and 95kms per charge in respective modes. The scooter will also feature premium materials including LED headlamp, feather-touch switch gears, digital instrument cluster and more. It is expected to be priced around Rs 1.30 lakhs Ex-showroom and will be initially available only in Pune and Bengaluru.
2. Ather 450X
Ather Energy, a Bengaluru based start-up company has tasted immense success with the electric scooters in its home city due to its well-equipped products and excellent charging facility. Ather calls its charging network as Ather Grid and in Bengaluru, in every 4km radius you will get one EV charging hub. Ather has teased its upcoming Ather 450X Super scooter which is said to be launched in the coming weeks to take on the Upcoming Bajaj Chetak. The 450X is expected to get a range of around 90kms per charge, a top speed of 85kmph and new graphics along with better connectivity features compared to the Ather 450. It will be the most premium offering from Ather and is expected to sport a price tag of Rs 1.30 lakhs Ex-showroom. The E-Scooter will be launched on January 28, 2020, and will be initially available in only 10 cities.
3. Tata Nexon Electric
Tata Motors has recently unveiled its first electric SUV called the Tata Nexon EV. The electric SUV is based on the upcoming Nexon Facelift and will feature a bunch of design updates compared to its predecessor. The EV will also be equipped with a host of features on the inside and will offer a good driving range too. Expect the Nexon EV to be launched later this month at an Ex-showroom price of around Rs 16 lakhs. Itr will be launched on January 28, 2020.
4. MG ZS EV
MG Motors has already tasted success in the Indian market with its Hector SUV and now it is all set to launch its second product in India and its an electric vehicle, called the MG ZS EV. The electric vehicle will offer a decent driving range along with minimalistic looking exterior and feature-loaded interior. Once launched it will lock horns with Hyundai Kona EV and is expected to be priced at Rs 22.50 lakhs Ex-showroom. It will be launched on January 23, 2020.
