2020 Hero Glamour BS6 launched in India; More Powerful, More Features!

The National Capital New Delhi based home-grown two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp has launched a set of BS6-compliant motorcycles today in India. The company has launched these bikes at the Hero World 2020 Event organized at the company’s Centre of Innovation and Technology (CIT) facility located in the pink city Jaipur. The company has unveiled three products and for a reference addressed them as ‘Rise’, ‘Revive’ and ‘Race’ during the launch event. In this article, we will be talking about ‘Rise’ i.e. the all-new 2020 Hero Glamour 125 BS6.

Hero MotoCorp has rolled out the updated model of the Glamour 125 commuter motorcycle and it has received minor styling upgrades along with some tweaked hardware and BS6-compliant engine. Hero has ditched the old tubular double-cradle frame and instead, Glamour 125 now gets a new diamond frame that is claimed to weigh lesser than before, and lesser weight means better performance as well as more efficiency.

The 2020 Hero Glamour is powered by the new 125cc engine that churns out a maximum power output of 10.73bhp at 7500rpm and 10.6Nm of peak torque at 6000rpm. The company claims that the new BS6-version is around 19% more powerful than its older BS4-counterpart. The updated model has also ditched the 4-speed gearbox and it now gets a new 5-speed transmission unit. Also, like all other Hero bikes, the Glamour 125 too comes with the brand’s i3S or idle start-stop system to maximize fuel efficiency and it now also gets fuel-injection technology and bids adieu to the old-school carburettor.

The 2020 Hero Glamour 125 gets a revised instrument cluster with rear time fuel economy indicator and pilot lamps with smoked-out finish. The bike also gets a new feature called Auto Sail Technology and it will be certainly a boon in the stop-go traffic scenarios. Its front suspension travel has been increased by 14% and the rear suspension travel has gone up by 10% and it also gets 20% higher ground clearance.

The 2020 Hero Glamour comes in four colour schemes – Candy Red, Sports Red, Techno Blue and Tornado Grey, and is available in two variants Disc and Drum priced at Rs 68,900 and Rs 72,400 respectively, all prices Ex-showroom Delhi. Hero has also announced that the shippings are already in progress and the deliveries of the motorcycles will commence within a few days.
