2020 Hero Splendor Plus BS6 Launched; Priced from Rs 59,600.

The National Capital New Delhi based home-grown two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp has launched the BS6-compliant iteration of its most popular and most selling commuter motorcycle. The 2020 Hero Splendor Plus BS6 has been launched in India with prices starting at Rs 59,600 Ex-showroom.

The Hero Splendor Plus has been the indisputable king of the commuter motorcycle segment for decades now and the motorcycle manages to sell three lakh plus units every month. The best-selling commuter motorcycle now gets an electronic fuel-injection system to improve emission performance and it also receives an additional catalytic converter to ensure BS6-compliance.

However, mechanically the bike remains completely identical but now gets cosmetic upgrades which do make it look a bit fresher than before. It gets all-new body decals and dual-tone colour themes. Also, the instrument console now gets an engine-check light owing to the addition of fuel injection.

The motorcycle is still powered by the same Honda-sourced 97.2cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that churns out a maximum power output of 8 PS at 8000 RPM and the peak torque rating is 8.05 Nm at 6000 RPM. It comes mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox and now complies with the upcoming stringent BS6-emission norms. Like its sibling new Hero HF Deluxe, it also now gets a fuel-injected system with ‘Xsens’ technology that claims to offer 9% better fuel efficiency and acceleration.

The 2020 Hero Splendor Plus BS6 continues to be available in three variants: Kick with Alloy, Self start with Alloy, and Self start with Alloy and i3S, prices for which start at Rs 59,600 and goes up to Rs 63,110, all prices Ex-showroom Delhi. The 2020 Hero Splendor Plus BS6 FI has started reaching showrooms across the country and the company aims to convert its entire portfolio to BS6 before the April 2020 deadline.
