Everything You Need To Know About 'The Beast'; U.S. Presidential Official Limousine.
The President of the United States of America, Mr. Donald J. Trump was recently on his maiden India tour along with the first lady of America, Melania Trump and his entire family. However, we aren't going to discuss what President Trump did during his two-day visit. What we are going to do is that we will tell you everything you need to know about 'The Beast', U.S. Presidential Car.
The U.S. President's Official Car is not an ordinary machine. It is loaded with arms, ammunition and crazy features up to the gills. It is a hell of an engineering marvel and a mystery too, why mystery we will tell you in the later section of the article.
The U.S. President Donald Trump's official presidential car nicknamed 'The Beast' has arrived in India before his visit to the country in the Air Force One (the official United States Air Force aircraft carrying the president of the United States) and landed in Ahmedabad. This vehicle is based on a 2018 Cadillac platform and is maintained by the U.S. Secret Service. The unique Cadillac has a number of features to protect the US President and has earned the title of the safest car in the world.
The Beast weighs nearly 9100 Kilograms and is worth 1.5 million dollars. The limousine is a bullet and blast resistance car. The body has a 5-inch thick military-grade armor, which is made from a combination of steel, aluminium, titanium and ceramic to break down incoming projectiles.
The doors are armor-plated and are eight-inch thick, making it as heavy as a cabin door of a Boeing 757 jet. When closed, the doors create a 100 percent seal to protect the president from a chemical attack. The windows are a combination of five layers of glass and polycarbonate and can withstand piercing bullets.
The tires are Kevlar reinforced which makes it shred and puncture-proof along with steel rims underneath that enables it to escape in case the tires are destroyed. The fuel tank, too, is armor plated and covered with foam to prevent a blast even if directly hit.
The interiors of the Beast are even more interesting than what is outside. The car is equipped with a pump-action shotgun, tear gas cannon, fire fighting systems, and tear and smoke screen dispensers. The car has a satellite phone that connects the passengers directly to the Vice-president and the Pentagon.
The car also always carries a blood sample of the president, in case he needs a transfusion. The car is also equipped with a tear gas launcher just below the headlights and sports night vision cameras on the bonnet.
Coming to the mystery, the engine powering the car is a mystery as it hasn't been revealed anywhere by the US Secret Service. However, speculations suggest that the vehicle could be powered either by an 8.1-litre naturally-aspirated V8 petrol engine, or a 6.6-litre turbo-diesel engine.
To prevent any manufacturing secrets from leaking out, every US Presidential car is destroyed after its retirement. Since 1983, all Presidential vehicles have been built by General Motors under the Cadillac brand. Prior to that, other Presidential cars were also built by Ford Motor Company (via Lincoln and Ford), Pierce-Arrow Motor Car Company, and Stanley Motor Carriage Company.
