Mercedes Benz V-Class Marco Polo launched in India, priced from Rs 1.38 Crores.

Mercedes Benz is India's Largest Luxury Car Manufacturer and also it is the only luxury car brand to be present at the ongoing 2020 Auto Expo. The German car manufacturer has showcased a wide range of products at the Delhi Expo which includes upcoming A-Class Limousine, new GLA, AMG GT 4-door Coupe (priced at Rs 2.42 Crores, Ex-showroom) along with a wide range of existing vehicles in its portfolio. The company has also launched the New Mercedes Benz V-Class Marco Polo at the Expo, and you can praise it as a luxury mini-home on wheels.

The company has first introduced its V-Class Luxury MPV in India back in 2019 and then it was available in just two variants 'Expression' and 'Exclusive' priced at Rs 68.4 lakhs and Rs 81.9 lakhs, Ex-showroom respectively. Just a few months ago Mercedes has also introduced the V-Class Elite which is priced at Rs 1.10 crores Ex-showroom. And since the V-Class has had decent success in the Indian market, the brand is now expanding its MPV line-up with this luxury camper.

The New Mercedes V-Class Marco Polo comes in two variants: Marco Polo Horizon and standard Marco Polo priced at Rs 1.38 crores and Rs 1.46 crores, Ex-showroom respectively. In terms of dimensions, the Marco Polo is based on the long-wheelbase version of the V-class and measures 5,140 mm in length, 1,928 mm in width, 1,901 mm in height and has a 3,200 mm wheelbase.

According to Mercedes, the V-Class Marco Polo combines outdoor ruggedness with the carmaker’s luxury and technology. The top-spec V-Class Marco Polo comes with a fully-equipped kitchenette, fold-out table, wardrobe, refrigerator, water supply, etc much like a compact and cozy mini-home. There is a wood finish on the floor too. However, the entry-level Horizon spec misses out on the kitchenette, wardrobes, and a few other home comforts.

Under the hood, the V-Class Marco Polo gets a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine that churns out 163bhp and 380Nm of torque, mated to a 9-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox. The power is channeled to the rear wheels. The Luxury MPV currently doesn't has any direct rival in India and it offers a kind of Exclusivity to the customers who are looking for a mobile luxury house.
