Toyota Vellfire Luxury MPV Launched in Indai; Mercedes V-Class Rival!
The Japanese Car Manufacturer's Indian subsidiary, Toyota Kirloskar Motors has finally launched its flagship Luxury people-mover in India. The Toyota Vellfire Luxury MPV has been launched in India at an introductory price of Rs 79.50 lakhs, Ex-showroom India (except Kerala) and this business class people carrier rivals the Mercedes Benz V-Class in India.
The Toyota Vellfire is a no-nonsense MPV. It has a sheer amount of road presence, thanks to its humongous dimensions and flashy looks. The Luxury MPV is 4,935mm long, 1,850mm wide, 1,895mm high, and has a massive 3,000mm wheelbase. The main highlight of the luxury MPV is its middle row seats. It offers features VIP lounge seats in the middle row with powered ottomans for leg support, leather upholstery, twin sunroof, and a ceiling-mounted 13-inch rear entertainment screen.
The middle seats are even power-adjustable with memory function, heated and cooled, and are fitted with fold-out tables. The heated and cooled seats also feature a (very) reclinable backrest, along with an adjustment for the leg-rest angle and length, which means that the middle-row seats can also be converted to a near-flat bed at a touch of a button.
The MPV also gets a 13-inch rear entertainment screen that’s mounted on the roof, a 17-speaker JBL sound system, sunblinds for second and third rows, 16 colour options for the roof lighting. In terms of safety, the MPV gets 7 airbags with ABS, EBD, panoramic view monitor, parking assist and more.
The India version of the Vellfire is powered by a hybrid powertrain that consists of a 2.5-litre petrol engine and two electric motors for an electronic 4WD system. The petrol engine churns out 117PS of power and 198Nm of torque while the front motor offers 143PS and the rear motor churns out 68PS. Toyota claims a fuel efficiency of 16.35 kmpl while the powertrain’s drive duties are split 60:40 between the battery and engine respectively.
The Toyota Vellfire will be brought to India as a CBU import and thus has been priced at an Ex-showroom price of Rs 79.50 lakhs. The Bookings for the Vellfire was commenced long back and till date, it has gathered 180 bookings, of which 20 per cent bookings have come from Hyderabad, and the deliveries will commence soon.
